The entire troop drove quite some way for this lovely Coffs Harbour wedding. The wedding was small: just immediate family and their partners.
An awesome Coffs Harbour wedding location
We gathered on the grass in front of the beach for some lovely nuptials. Mitchell cried (it was awesome). I couldn’t believe how beautiful Abbey looked (ok, that’s a lie – I fully expected this). You might note that during the ceremony all the guests covered their ears with their hands. This act was timed with the celebrant’s words ‘between a man and a woman’ and in defiance to the archaic and ludicrous Australian law that prevents same sex couples from marrying.
And after the sun bled an impossible orange across the horizon, and after our bellies were full, we gathered again on the grass. We released sky lanterns (100% biodegradable and environmentally safe, of course). We watched as, one by one, they climbed on their fiery journey and eventually winked out, joining the stars in the sky above us.
