Growwild Wildflower Farm Wedding

Yeah so, I have quite a soft spot for this amazing wedding venue. So I feel that I’m a little biased whenever I go in to a Growwild Wildflower Farm wedding. I won’t bore you with all the details right now (you can check my other Growwild wedding post here if you’d like to know more.) The summary is: I know this property VERY well, and I absolutely adore shooting weddings here.

A beautiful Growwild Wildflower Farm wedding

Casey and Matthew’s Growwild wedding was on a perfectly calm and quite warm spring day. I feel like days like this are when the Southern Highlands truly shines. It can be oppressively hot in the middle of summer but the shoulder seasons are often beautiful. With only around 50 guests, C +M chose to use the barn for their ceremony spot, instead of the more traditional ‘sacred valley’ which is outdoors. I approve of this decision! I love the barn for ceremonies. It’s wonderfully intimate and has great light for photos .

Canapes and some photos around the farm

After their Growwild Wildflower Farm wedding ceremony, C +M and their guests hung out for some delicious canapés and drinks. We eventually went for a short walk to shoot some portraits. I think we spent around 30 mins taking these kinds of photos. Look – I’m super happy that the days of 2-3 hour portrait sessions are over! I find that now, most couples want to minimise the time we spend away from guests taking photos. They don’t want to miss out on the food, the drinks and also spending time with all their guests who’ve made the journey to be a part of their celebration. I’m 100% on board with this so I try to keep my portrait sessions to around 30 mins max.

Vendors

My photos are only as good as the other vendors you choose! That’s why having a great makeup artist or DJ is awesome. Makes my job way easier. For this Growwild Wildflower Farm wedding, I got to work with some excellent vendors / friends. Michaela Caines did the makeup – she’s awesome. Hair was by my friend Samantha Holden. It was my first time working with the awesome celebrant Modern Rituals by Kiah – and hopefully not my last! Music was by the legend Jack Rose.

Thanks sooooo much for having me Casey and Matthew! x
